Most of us focus on signs that don’t really show us what we need to see. We listen to what they tell us, but not watch what they do. Remember the saying, actions speak louder than words? It’s really true, especially when it comes to seeing if he’s genuinely interested in you. Understanding the body language of men is like learning a foreign language.

How to read the body language of men 

So many men told me they really like me, yet I see them eyeing other girls or always texting on

their phone. You don’t need a guy that’s just going to feed you bullshit lines, what you need is a guy that actually shows you his interest.

Now, some guys lack experience or are simply shy, but that doesn’t mean they won’t give you signals. Most of our communication stems through body language. All you need is to keep your eye on the body language of men. You take all the information you need just from watching him, it’s that easy.

#1 Don’t think like a woman. 

Now, you’ve probably been looking for signals similar to the ones you show when interested in someone. Though some signals may be the same, men actually use a different part of the brain when reading body language.

In some occasions, they don’t notice the subtle cues you give them. You’ll be able to see that their body language is more pronounced in comparison to women. They won’t be so subtle.

#2 Look at the feet. 

You’d never think of it, but men usually point their feet in the direction of the person they’re interested in. Research actually proved that we subconsciously point our feet in the direction that we want them to go. You can apply this anywhere, whether you’re at a bar or in class—the toes show you the way!

#3 They’re attracted to flirting. 

If you wonder why the guy who’s been eyeing you isn’t approaching, there could be a simple reason. Other than the fact that he may be taken, research shows men are more attracted to women who are available. When I mean available, I mean women who are flirtatious and open. If you stand in the corner with your hands crossed, well, that’s not inviting.

#4 He touches his face. 

Of course, if he touches your face, he’s interested, but if he touches his face, it means the same thing. When you talk to him watch what he does with his hands. Is he stroking his cheek up and down? Rubbing his chin? These acts are from excitement and nervousness. When we like someone the skin on our face becomes more sensitive to touch.

#5 He lets you see him checking you out. 

We tend to think men check us out when we’re not paying attention. However, you probably experience situations where you saw a guy check you out. They do that on purpose. Some researchers call this “visual voyaging.” This means they’ll be checking you out, letting their eyes hit the area they love the most. Of course, in that second, you’ll notice.

#6 He tries to get your attention. 

Some men won’t be so forward, but others work on trying to get your attention. Some guys literally turn into clowns. They become loud, slightly obnoxious, or physically make gestures that force you to look at him. It’s like looking at a train wreck. You don’t want to look, but you can’t look away.

#7 He’s detached from his friends. 

He may be standing with his friends, but he’s not really standing with them. You notice that he’s slightly off to the side of friends, wanting to be seen as one person rather than someone in a group of people. He’s trying to show he’s not tied to them.

#8 He’s flexing. 

I know this sounds hilarious, but I don’t mean he looks like he’s entering a bodybuilding competition. But he definitely makes sure his muscles look tight and firm. He wants to ensure you see him in his best form. Also, he’ll make sure to stand right in front of you, so that you see his entire body.

#9 Look at the brows. 

Have you ever seen someone really attractive? Your eyebrows probably raised in shock. Well, this is the same thing. When we see someone we’re attracted to, we raise our eyebrows. It’s extremely fast, so if you see it, you caught it. When we lift our eyebrows, we allow more light to reflect off of them, making us appear bright-eyed and inviting.

#10 The nostrils. 

This isn’t one of those sexy signs in the body language of men, but if his nostrils flare combined with raised eyebrows and parted lips—this is usually a sign he gives an open expression. He’s trying to look engaging and inviting for you.

#11 They’re on their best manners. 

When a man is interested in a woman, you’ll be surprised at how they’re on their best behavior. Are you hungry? Are you cold? Do you want a drink? He tries to make sure you feel safe and comfortable which is a great sign in the body language of men. If he gives you his coat to wear or holds the door open for you, he’s into you.

#12 He puts his phone away. 

Nowadays, our phones have become our lives. If someone constantly checks their phone when they’re around you, they’re not that interested. If they really like you, they wouldn’t feel the need to check their phone because they’re busy with you. So, if he isn’t constantly looking at his Facebook or checking out girls on Instagram, that’s a great sign.

#13 Eye contact. 

Even the shyest guy makes eye contact with you if he likes you. Eye contact is an extremely important sign to look for. If he never looks at you when you speak, he’s not listening. Now, if he’s interested, he wants to see your mouth move when you speak. He wants to watch your facial expressions. If he stares off into space, he’s not really into you.

#14 Lip licking. 

Lip licking is extremely sexual. If this is what you want from him, this is a good sign. A man that wants you is someone who looks like they’re hungry. If he looks at you while licking his lips, you sparked his sexual appetite.

#15 He leans into you. 

You wouldn’t lean into someone if you didn’t like them. It’s very simple. Usually, when we’re into someone, we want to be close to them. If a man is into you, he tries to get into your personal space. He wants to touch you in some way, whether his leg brushes up against you or his arm goes around your shoulders.

#16 He shows his teeth. 

Who would have thought that would be a sign?! But if he shows his teeth, this means he’s smiling, right? Right! If a guy smiles, he’s obviously extremely happy and enjoying himself around you. If he looks like a kid in a candy store, well, it’s because he is. You’re the candy.

#17 His legs are open when he sits. 

You probably never noticed this and if you did, you probably didn’t associate it with this. When a man sits with his legs spread, he’s exposing his private parts. A pretty sensitive area, if you ask me. Since this part of the body is so sensitive, it shows he literally opens himself to vulnerability, meaning he wants to get to know you.

#18 The deep breath. 

When he first laid eyes on you, all you heard was him taking a huge breath. The man needs oxygen, he can’t handle seeing you! I mean this is the best of ways, of course. But this also means he tries to peacock since taking a deep breath makes his chest wide and appear bigger.
